DAY 01

Bagdogra – Darjeeling (93 kms 3 hours drive)

On arrival, at the airport / railway station and drive to Darjeeling.

Darjeeling

Standing high in the Himalayas at an altitude of 2134m, ‘Dorje Ling’, or place of the thunderbolt, offers breathtaking views of snow-capped mountainpeaks, with the Kanchenjunga rising higher than all the others. Often refferedto as the ‘ Queen of the Hills’, it remains just as alluring with it’s tinywaterfalls, little villages and a narrow gauge railway track. Surrounded byworld famous tea garden and snow capped mountains. Darjeeling remains one ofthe exotic destinations.

Arrive Darjeeling and check-in to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Darjeeling.

DAY 02

Darjeeling

Early morning visit Tiger Hill to see beautiful sunrise and Himalayan range like Kanchenjunga, Mount Everest etc. one can see the horizon changing colours just before sunrise and then the Himalayan range turns golden. It is truly majestic sight and Ghoom Monastery which is the oldest Monastery in the area was built in 1875 where one can see the image of Mythey Buddha 15ft. height on the wayback from Tiger Hill. After beakfast at the hotel, proceed to a city tour visiting Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday), Zoologicalpark (closed on Thursday), Tibetian Refugee Center (closed on Sunday), Tenzing Rock, Gombu Rock, Tea Eastest (from outside), Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda.

DAY 03

Darjeeling – Gangtok (98 kms 4 hours approx.)

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Gangtok.

Gangtok

Atan altitude of 1750m, Gangtok became the state capital in the mid 19th century and has undergone rapid development since then. The downtown area is dominated by huge government buildings decorated with traditional Buddhist symbols. Gangtok is also a resting ground for people travelling to North Sikkim. Surrounded by Monasteries and Orchids, Gangtok is truly a travellers delight. 

Arrive Gangtok and check-in to the hotel. Later, proceed for sightseeing in Gangtok visiting Tashi view point, Ganesh Tok, Flower Show, Do Drul Chorten, Instituteof Tibetology, Cottage Industry and Bakthang Falls.

DAY 04

Gangtok

Breakfast at the hotel and full day excursion to Changu Lake which is 35 kms from Gangtok at an altitude of 12400 feet. The lake derives its water from melting snows off the surrounding mountains Legends say that lamas could forecast the future by studying the colour of the lake’s water. Also visit Baba Mandir. Overnight at the hotel in Gangtok.

DAY 05

Gangtok – Kalimpong (83 kms 3 hours approx)

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Kalimpong.

Kalimpong

Atan altitude of 1250m, Kalimpong’s location is ideal for a pleasant, relaxed gateway. It’s clement weather has made Kalimpong’s orchids and gladiol well renowned. Up to the early 1700s, the Kalimpong area was the part of the Sikkim Raja’s domain. In the early 18th century the Bhutan King also took it over. In 1865, after the ‘Anglo – Bhutan’ war, it was annexed to Darjeeling.

Arrive Kalimpong and chech-in to the hotel afternoon, proceed for city tour visiting Zang Dog, palriFoBrang Maonastery. Overnight stay at the hotel in kalimpong.

DAY 06

Kalimpong – Bagdogra/ NJP (80 kms. 3 hours approx.)

After a buffet breakfast, check-out and proceed to Bagdogra / NJP airport for your flight back home. Return home with wonderful memories of your holiday with Weekend Tours.
